The 40-year-old stabbed his victim in the chest with a kitchen knife on the 5th November 2019.
Risman Naitsoka, of Grove Street, Wantage fled the scene after stabbing his victim, a 48-year-old woman who was known to him, during an argument.
She was left with a puncture wound to the chest but she survived.
He was found guilty of wounding with intent at Oxford Crown Court on 10th August and later sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment for the offence. He was also given a restraining order.
