Woman guilty of 'repeatedly stabbing' man in Oxford flat

Stacey Bilverstone jumped on her victim's back as he tried to get away.

Bilverstone, who doesn't have a fixed address, stabbed a man six times on 25th June at around 9pm.

The 57-year-old victim fell to the ground as he tried to flee his flat in Cutteslowe.

He was taken to hospital for five minor stab wounds to the back of his neck and one major stab wound to his throat, and needed surgery.

Bilverstone, 42, was found guilty of GBH with intent by a unanimous jury at Oxford Crown Court today.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Victoria Hopkins of Force CID in Oxford, said: "This was a vicious attack by Bilverstone.

"She stabbed her victim, who was already on the ground, several times in the back and then caused a severe injury with another wound to his throat.

"Bilverstone showed no regards for this man’s life and she caused horrific and almost fatal injuries.

"Along with that, she has not taken responsibility for her actions on that day, causing the victim the additional ordeal of a trial where he has had to relive those dreadful moments, which could so easily have been his last.

"I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the victim in this case for his incredible bravery and support throughout this difficult investigation.

"Now Bilberstone has been found guilty, I hope this is the start he needs to begin to re-build his life."

Bilverstone will be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on 17 January 2019.
