JACK 3 is a local radio station for adults in Oxfordshire. This part of our website will help you to learn more about what we do, our remit, and how we are monitored to ensure we comply with our obligations. This is known as JACK 3's "Public File".

The regulation of radio licensees in the United Kingdom is controlled by Ofcom. From time to time Ofcom will monitor JACK 3's output and check JACK 3's Public File to ensure we are complying with our obligations.

Weekdays

0600, 0700, 0730, 0800, 0830, 0900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1630, 1700, 1730, 1800, 1830, 1900

Saturdays

0900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300

Sundays

0900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300

 

Note that Bank Holidays operate a Saturday schedule and there is no news on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.

Automation

During an average weekday our daytime programming (0600-1900) is all automated. There is usually a producer or studio manager on hand controlling the programmes, such as the links between the songs and all the other JACK 3 programming features.

News bulletins are pre-recorded.

All of the programmes you hear on JACK 3 are produced here in Oxford from our Woodstock Road studios, from where we broadcast 24 hours a day.

JACK 3 Format

The rules which define the sound of JACK 3 are contained in the station's format, which is drawn up by Ofcom.

JACK 3 is described as “A music-intensive station playing an eclectic mix of easy hits for the over 50’s”
